"All That I Am I Owe To My Angel Mother"

First things first! I love me Savior! but 2nd things 2nd! I LOVE MY MOTHER! and THAT is the sweet message i have for today! :) John 3:16 has stuck out to me much much more this week than ever!

The sacrifice of a Father is the story of Christ and His atonement! THEY sacrificed! Both of them! and John 3:16 just helps me understand that better! God loves me, as does His sweet Son! I know that is true! and its a deep love that I have yet to fully understand but i know that it is a love that exists!

I feel this love through my parents! especially the unconditional love of my mom! Her service as a missionary has inspired me to be a missionary myself!!! I love her. and owe her much!

anyway...that was kinda mushy but AALAAASSSS its true!!!!!!

so i reenacted my moms mission photos!!!! :)

enjoy.

also.....the work is good!!!

No unhallowed hand!

First off! SHOUT OUT to Hermana Rebecca Nelson on serving a wonderful mission to Bolivia! So happy she is home safely! I really admire her drive and work ethic!

There has been MUCH rejection this week! Which we were really really really bummed about! BUT ALAS! The Lord provides in other ways!...we had SEVERAL member-present lessons this week which was AWESOME! and at missionary club with all of the youthsunday, many came back and reported that they talked about their beliefs at school! VERY cool! and then we had dinner with a family and just randomly during the dinner apt. the son (bryce) said "sisters....can i refer you to someone?? will you go see my friend across the street??) it was incredible! unsolicited! it was his raw desire to share the gospel! AWESOME FAITH!!!

Although getting rejected is tough, I really do know that Christ has suffered more rejection than i even want to think about! i know that He is the fore-ordained Redeemer! The one, from the VERY BEGINNING, who agreed to save our souls!

It was cool! I was thinking about it and in the Council of the Heavens Christ said "Here Am I send ME" and Satan also said "here am I send me!" and The Father said "I will send the first" so many times i read Christs part with so much sincerity and Satan's part with so much deceitfulness...but the Father..what was HIS response like? how did He say that? I am sure He was really really choked up when He said "I will send the First!" The atonement was the sacrifice of a SON as well as His FATHER! Incredible!

I love this.

I love it SO much!!!!!! This sharing with people! Its wonderful and am so grateful i have gotten to teach sooooo many and talk to sooooo many! I love you friends and family!!!! :)

I found my life when I laid it down

All I can really think of this week was the Martin Family!!! Sister Christensen and I have been knocking door after door and things just weren't really happening (all the craziness of school starting has been totally knocking people off their rockers so they are not really interested in Mormon missionaries) and a lot of members are  unavailable right now  just because school is a lot! so we were a little discouraged this week to say the least.

But Wednesday we had a lesson scheduled with the Martin Family! They are neighbors of a family in the ward and are just AWESOME! I was feeling really really nervous for the lesson with them! Which i haven't felt in a while...just anxiousness for a lesson! but we really didn't want to mess it up! hahaha so we were just praying together and in our hearts THE WHOLE DAY! so we come for the lesson and they were happy to see us! They sat us down and it was SO cool! As we were sitting and teaching about the restoration, we turned on the video of Joseph Smith seeing God and Jesus Christ and (I know that EVERYONE USED THIS TERM) the SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG! and that is what we want anyways right?? so that was great! And Alyssa said "you know I've gotta say...the Mormon church ever since I was young has been popping up in my life in a bunch of ways!!" and It was cool that she could see that in her own life God has been preparing her for this! They are great!

Fridays we have youth volleyball nights! although it has turned into something called "deathball" which is just crazy no-team dodgeball. it gets intense but the youth love it and love that the missionaries play with them! well the day before we felt like we should text the youth and just say "Hey! Who are you bringing to Volleyball tonight??" and they texted back and we had youth bring friends! SO COOL! We got to talk to them about church and where they go to church and why some of us were wearing nametags and some weren't! It was great!

Speaking of the youth! SUNDAYS after church for 5 minutes we have MISSIONARY CLUB!! its something that sister Christensen and I were told by a ward missionary worked for him in his mission so we started doing it with the youth! they all come in chanting "Missionary club missionary club missionary club!" and then we start with prayer! Ask about what missionary opportunities they had that week and then issue a new challenge! and last week the challenge was to invite a new person to sit with your "group" at lunch at school! or go sit with someone! And a bunch of them did it! THEY desire so badly to LIVE their religion every day of the week!!!!!! so cool!!!!

okay. that is all! I love being a missionary! so much! I know that Wisconsin is where the Lord would have me! When i first received the call I was a little bummed that the Lord "didn't trust me with an exotic part of the vineyard" (whatever THAT means right? haha) but I know that all parts of the vineyard matter to the Master! I love these people! i love the message we share with them!!

HOOLLLLLLLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So super super super super cool story!!!!!! We got out of the car to go contact a woman we have been trying to work with and we see this guy smoking on his porch. we were in a hurry so i said to myself:

"alright...we have to go...he doesn't even look interested...so we don't have to talk to him..."

so we start walking down the sidewalk... but the spirit had other plans haha so literally i stop and just swing myself around and start walking towards him without saying anything to sister Christensen....which i can only imagine just made her confused because she didn't see this guy!!......ANYWAY! llllooooonnnngggggggg story short! we give him a book of mormon and ask if we can come back...he says yes...and we come back and hes sitting with his girlfriend on his porch and we ask his girlfriend if she has heard of the book of mormon and she says..."I AM Mormon!"...................

that gap represents the far too long and extremely awkward pause on my part after she told us that....due to my lack of...oh i don't know.....KNOWING WHAT TO SAY! hahaha We were so taken back! but her name is amanda and she wants to come back to church! She has her records in a different ward and CHECK IT OUT.....where was she born??? MOUNTAIN HOME IDAHO! What? what are the odds?? anyway! It was cool....needless to say!...The Lord really has been blessing us with the little things! It has been frustrating not having people necessarily see a need for the restored Gospel! But the people here are so prepared! We will find those who want to know the truth! :)

anyway! The week was wonderous!

some funnies real quick:

due to my health needs i have had a gluten-free diet for about a year.....ANYWAY! I was making some banana pancakes which is an egg and a banana some cinnamon and nutmeg and boom! there it is! anyway! We got these Guinea Hen eggs from a less active woman in the ward! We help on her farm and give her a message and she gives us eggs! seems legit! anyway! I used a guinea hen egg for my banana pancakes and as I crack the egg....I find..........a fetus...so that was cool...extra protein?...seriously considering going vegan.........ok maybe not.

I love you all! I love this gospel I love how I see it make others feel! I love how it has enhanced my relationship with my sisters and my parents and my friends and my companions and strangers and trees and EVERYTHING!
