Jesus The Christ!

  Since I finished the Book of Mormon a few weeks back I have felt that I should begin again to read "Jesus The Christ" By Elder James Talmage! I have learned MUCH more about the nature and personality of my Savior! Its been quite the experience! one that I invite all to have!

Elder Ringwood came to our mission on friday! We were combined (wausau, greenbay, and appleton zones) and got to listen to the words of a servant of God! 

    I had a certain question as i was reading Jesus The Christ that i was DETERMINED to ask, as we had previously been told that we would have a question and answer session with elder ringwood! I wanted to know why God needed to send someone to be the Savior! I understand that Christ was foreordained but i still was at a complete loss as to why the Father found fore-ordination necessary...why couldn't God come save us Himself?...i was going to get an answer and had been praying for one! 

     The time to ask the question at the meeting came and as i was about to raise my hand the Spirit said "JOHN 3:16!" and I thought about it! "God so loved the world that He send His ONLY begotten Son [...]" and then i thought about that a little bit! As my sister has become a mother she told me that its "a completely different level of love when you have a child" so the fact that God gave me HIS SON! Who He loves aon that "other level"...is saying something! Its THAT much more of a sacrifice! I am grateful for such a Father! What a gift! 

       I ended up not asking the question! But thats okay! I didn't need to! I got an answer and was so grateful!!!

   

      Many miracles have been going on this week! Many youth brining friends to Mutual! Members bringing significant others to church! but something that has been SO GREAT! Is a recent convert named Lexi (16)! We went over to her and her mom's apartment and she had a friend there! her name is Jasmine and we started to talk to Jasmine about the book of mormon and invited her to youth volleyball night we hold on fridays! jasmine agreed and then at volleyball she dominated and agreed to meet with sister Christensen and I and learn more about this book of mormon deal!!! :) 

    Its been such a JOY to teah Jasmine! It is helping lexi SO SO MUCH! lexi is teaching her friend and we are facilitating and helping where needed! SO SO SO grateful to my Father for this opportunity!

Lessons and Bathrooms

Okay!!!! Sister Christensen and I have really got this system down to a T!!! (What does that term even mean? the world may never know....)...we knock on a door *kksshhh *ksshhh *kksshhh (that was a door) and then no one answers.....we ring a doorbell *mingling (that was a doorbell) and then someone answers!!!! And then we say "hey we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of LAtter-Day Saints..." and then we do our thing! we ask if we can come in and share a message and heres the crazy part! They have agency!......so either they say "no chance..." or "oh my where have you been all my life?" anyway!!!!!!! If they say "no chance" sister Wise pipes up...

 and says ...

-"Well...heyo....we are walking and aren't close to home....can i use your restroom?" 

-and they say "yes" because Wisconsinites are dang nice when you don't bring up Trump, Hiliary or Mormonism...or the Chicago bears....anyway!

- And it gives sister Christensen enough time to bring up the restored gospel

- and then i come back into the room and say "wait what are we talkin about??" 

-and then sister Christensen says "oh i was just about to tell *insert name here* about prophets..."
- Sister wise says: "oh cool yeah....does your church teach about prophets much?? no?? well...."

BOOM! its a science i tell you! no but it is sooooo cool to see that if we can just get in that door the people become interested! its awesome!!!!!

anyway! life has been swell! We had a lesson yesterday with the Martin Family! they live next door to some members! we love them! they are interested in the restored Gospel and are looking for more! we let them know that the Temple is where the Lord wants them to prepare for! they thought that concept was incredible and were really really really curious about the Book of Mormon and the origin of it! GOOD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Also....i finished the Book of Mormon on Friday! What a book!!!!!!! I know that it is TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! It makes me think of the song by Rob Gardner called the 3 witnesses!:

AS ZION'S YOUTH IN LATTER-DAYS

Okay first off! Everyone should know that Sister Christensen and I are safe! there has been a lot of Craziness in Milwaukee with Riots and cars and gas stations on fire! but hey,,,,,sign of the times? I suppose! ANYWAY!

     

Life is good!!!!!

UPDATE ON MISSIONARY CLUB: the youth really responded! They all took our challenge and reported on it after church!!!! So we asked a priest to issue the next challenged! he challenged everyone to invite a friend to the tri-stake pool party on friday! They were scared but SO PUMPED to do it! Cant wait to see how it goes!

Tuesday! Went on an exchange with my good friend from college Sister Quist! SHE IS WONDERFUL!! we cam out together and we ALWAYS have wanted to go on an exchange so it was GREAT to be with her and teach the gospel we both love and reflect on what we have learned since we came out!!!!!!!!! :)

Friday! Sister Christensen and I took Cami (a young woman in the ward!) out with us for the day!!! she studied with us, taught with us, tracted..you NAME it! She is tough and she did it! If the missionaries asked me to tract with them at the age of 17 i would have said "hey yeah....go pound sand.."but she just did it! She LOVES the Lord! you can tell!!!!! she plans to serve a mission the second she turns 19!

Saturday! We took out Nicole Barker (in the YSA ward) out with us for the day!!! THIS was AWESOME! We had a lot of free time and met some SOLID SOLID people including a family that lives next door to a family in the ward who we have now started teaching! SO EXCITED TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! FAMILIES!!!!!!!!! :) anyway! NICOLE is a doll and about to go off to BYU! and then plans to serve a mission!!! :)

ALL IN ALL EXCELLENT WEEK! I have been thinking a lot about the Character of Christ! And who He is and who He expects me to be!  I have thought a lot about His personality! I have thought for a big chunk of my life that perfection means robotic and stiff! ... not the case though!!! Christ has the most personality of ANYONE! He is enthusiastic, empathetic, sincere...you name it! Why else would we strive to develop Christ-like attributes!? 

ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love you all.....and have realized i use FAR too many exclamation points...but hey...what are you gonna do?? :)

MISSIONARY CLUB

OKAY super cool! we were invited to come and speak to the young women in the ward this week about missionary work! A lot of them want to serve missions! SO that was definitely something that they LOVED to hear about! we talked about how easy it is to share with your friends! and then we invited them to think of a friend and then think of a mormon message or scripture that you will send them and then do it by sunday!

Sister Christensen and I have been feeling for quite some time now that it is the youth that will be the way we get a lot of work done in this area! so we said "OKAY! So we are going to follow up with you on sunday after church for 5 minutes in the overflow! we will talk about what missionary efforts you made this week and then we will issue a new challenge! so BE THERE or BE SQUARE!" and they were indeed not square and came! the youth LOVE missionary club!!!!!!!!!!!!! They shared the gospel their friends!!!!!!!!!!! THIS is why I am here! to help others invite their friends to come unto Christ! not just missionaries doing it! It is wonderful! MEMBERS are wonderful! I know this gospel is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway! NOT a ton of time this week! BUT I love you all! I love that this gospel makes me feel giddy inside! Makes me feel powerful! Makes me feel submissive and meek as well!!!!!! i love the words about my Savior in the song "BEautiful Savior!"

"sister....sister my feet........."

so sister wise had a great week...,sister wise"s feet did not.....i have received several....blisters...wounds from the "I hate missionaries" gods.....so that has been cool! but the other day we had an appointment an hour away that we needed to talk to! but i couldn't walk in my shoes....so of course i wear my running shoes and look like a fool! but hey !I was a comfortable fool! hahaha so! That was a little adventure! people looked at me for sure though and i wanted to say "WHAT? never seen a mormon missionary in a skirt and stylish running shoes????" haha

     HEY! Larry? who we met on the street? who randomly came to church???? YEAH! WE MET WITH HIM AND HAD A VERY POWERFUL LESSON! He admired our persistence because he had called earlier in the week and told us he didn't want to meet anymore! but we both felt strongly to go and give him a boook of momon and he loooovvveed it!!!!!!!! It was amazing! truly!!!!!!!!!!
