White Wisconsin Winters and White Baptismal Dresses

Well! Its been quite a week! Sister Tenney and I gave probably our last training together as STL's at zone conference! Kind of sad! but no worries! She and i will hang out after we are missionaries!
   
Something super cool happened this week! We do service at a community center in downtown milwaukee and we went in and were in the waiting room and we start talking to a guy and we whip out a book of mormon and start explaining it! and then i see in the corner of my eye,a woman sit down and kinda start listening.....

       .... .and so I thought to myself "okay.....how do we get her to come listen to us so we can start teaching her! but like always...my mouth has a mind of its own and started talking! and i point to her and say! "HEY do YOU want a book of mormon too???" after she recovered from the SHOCK i had put her into...she said "yes!" and so i went over and gave it to her and explained it and then sat back down! (we have an apointment with her on saturday this week :)) So then we are all teaching now 2 people! and as we were teaching about prophets i realized "wow/...its kinda quiet in here now....." and then looked around and realized...."oh...wow...everyone in the room is listening to us!" hahhaha my word! you get put with one more companion and you teach the multitudes quite literally! hahahahahaha so funny!!!!!! we walked out of there and just felt so grateful to have that experience!
                Something cool I realized when i was on exchanges with sister hall this week, was that even if people are so rude and so cold and want nothing to do with you, you still love them! Sister Hall and I got to have an experience with that this week! It was great to realize "wow! they were mean..but ALAS! my message is indeed true! and that's neat!"
              OKAY! MARIA WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!!!! She truly is a gem! her family came and the ward was sssooooooooo supportive and many other investigators came! as i always say: "WHAT A BLESSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" we were able to teach the restoration while she was changing and that really added to the spirit that was already there! :) She texted us afterward and told us how amazing she feels!
              
LAST THING!!!!!!!!!! My companions and i were watching the Restoration DVD preparing for the baptism.........and we were all completely silent while watching it.....and we stopped it after the first vision and we were all just quiet! (which is weird for us) and sister tenney said "does anyone else feel that!?!?!?!?!?!" and we just all talked about what we had just felt! That just because we teach this ALL THE TIME! Several times a day! Doesn't mean the spirit cant tell us its true! FOR IT IS TRUE!!!!!!! God and Christ came to Joseph Smith! ushering in the dispensation of the fulness of times! God has given us the priesthood! WHAT A BLESSING! I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God! And the God that He saw is my Father in Heaven! And the other was my Redeemer!

Hoorah for missionary documentaries, stalking investigators at Petsmart and funny jokes with a general authority

Missionary Documentary: okay! Richard in the YSA ward is a student at UWM (one of the campuses we serve on) and he is studying film! and he asked us and the elders if we would be willing to be the missionaries in a documentary on missionary work and mormons! Its a project for his class! he is so excited to share it with his class and find those who want to know more! It is just evidence to me that the Lord knows what gifts we have and uses them to spread the gospel!

     stalking investigators at Petsmart: so our investigator, Maria, is getting baptized next week on the 14th! we are SO EXCITED but we know that the adversary works on those who are about to make a covenant with God! so we decided that we need to contact maria EVERYDAY! Preferably in person! So it was saturday and realized we hadn't seen her! so i said "WOAH! shes working!" and so sister gross and tenney said "aww shoot! thats okay we will just see her tomorrow!" and i said "no lets go see her at work!" hahahaha! Shes a groomer at Petsmart and so we go and see her car outside and go scare her! It was hilarious! "oh hi maria.....yeah just....buying some lizard food.....?...................have you been reading the Book of mormon?...." hahahhaha it was awkward but hey IF ITS NOT AWKWARD...ITS NOT MISSIONARY WORK!

      Jokes by general Authorities: so we had MLC this week (missionary Leadership Council) and we had the cool opportunity to have elder Ulisees Soares from the presidency of the seventy come to talk with us! he wanted to shake all of hands and meet us! and he looked at me and said "Sister! Where are you from?" and i told him idaho and he said "how do you pronounce your last name??" "Wise! like a wise guy!" and he thought that was really funny and he said "you are wise! I can tell aren't you?" and i told him that i wasn't that wise haha...it really wasn't that funny..but his Brazillian accent made the exchange we had 1000 times more awesome! hahaha

     Elder Soares really hit me hard! he walked in the room and we stood and i just felt a special spirit! It reminded me of general conference when we stand for the prophet to walk in! it made me think! What if the Savior walked in to a room! would i stand in respect or would i bow! would i just be like...face down on the ground because i revere Him? i think it would be the second option! I had an interview with my mission president and we were talking about the work with the YSA's and he just said "you have grown close to Christ have you not??" and i said "wow....i guess i have......" Its true I love my Savior! i serve Him by the way i live my life! "SO i'll be the kind of person! That i know i'd like to be if i could see the Savior standing nigh watching over me!"

I LOVE THIS WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many mormon missionaries does it take to change a tire???

okay! Story! wowza! so i brought sister Hansen (SLC, UT) to my area for an exchange! (by the way shes like 6 feet tall...for real....we were quite to companionship hahaha) but in the morning we were walking out of the apartment and i was saying "alright! Its going to be a great day! We are going to work work work" and when i got to our car I saw that it was like tilted...you guessed it! flat tire! and so i said "no worries no worries theres a gas station over there!" so we went and put gas in the car.....and nothing happened! hahaha kidding! We put air in the tire and nothin! so we assumed we ran over something and needed a replacement! but HOW TO CHANGE A TIRE! it was completely flat! so we call the elders and...bless their hearts.....they didn't know how to either! so we called other elders and they came and got it! they changed that tire faster than i can quote Jacob 6:12!!! "o be wise, what can i say mo... hey good job elders!" hahahahaha but we got to sears and got it all taken care of and shared the gospel with the guys who worked there! Jerry! My buddy jerry at sears! good man!

 ANYWHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its been a good week!!!!! Kinda odd situation we are in now! Sister Tenney and I have a new companion! We are now in a trio! With sister Dawn Gross! (Who...shout out to Mckenna Adams...totally went to high school kenna my life long friend!!!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!) sister gross's companion went home! So she will be with us the next four weeks! we have 3 mattresses now in a room that barely fit two! BUT THATS OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS FUN!!!!!!!! so we are now over three wards! Which is half of the stake! SO oh boy this will be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something super cool!!!!!!!!! a guy in the singles ward named jordan totally has started bringing his friend, keeley to activities! They are in dental school at marquette together! We have dinner with them soon and cant wait to share the gospel with her and invited her to learn more!!!!!! ALSO! Maria is getting baptized soon and we are SO PUMPED!!!!!!!!! she is solid as a rock! We read the book of mormon with her and she loves it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The book of mormon is TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man! I have seen it help her and help myself! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL! no doubt about that!
