So the LDSSA booth has been wonderful! We were talkin to the whole dang campus about the gospel! So how we get people to even stop at the booth is we offer free candy if they take a survey on religion that we give!!! and these students just flock in!!!! its so great!!!!!!!!!
anywho! we met with Bailey this week! (A psychology major at UWM) and she agreed to be baptized in MAY! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! we taught her the Plan of Salvation and she really appreciated the fact that she can live with God again and that those who were not Christian in this life will have the opportunity in the next! She is awesome!
And also! our Bishops wife was raised Jewish and the converted to Mormonism when she was attending Standford for grad school! and so every year she does a jewish sader! (passover meal) and so she invited us! And it was interesting! it was half jews and half mormons haha and of course we substituted the wine for grape juice! but it was so interesting!
It was crazy! Because during the meal (which is highly symbolic and all of the food presented points to the Messiah who is to come) bishop turned to us and he said "The lamb bone on the table represents the lamb...the lamb of God..because it is ONLY through the lamb we are saved!" and RIGHT when he said that i realized "oh my gosh...HALF the people believe that lamb is Jesus Christ and HALF do not!" I was just so grateful at that time that i have the knowledge that salvation comes ONLY through the name of Jesus Christ! ONLY! It is such a comfort to me!!! i am grateful i know that! I am not just grateful but i KNOW that i know that!
one last thing! I was sitting on the bus and i was really tired! It was early in the morning and we had to catch a bus to go to UWM to see bailey...and i was thinking " I could easily just look out the window and day dream about dance or something" and then i thought "Nah God would rather have you read the book of mormon! so i pull it out and start reading! and then at the next stop! This guy gets on and sits behind me....after a minute or two he taps me on the shoulder and said "Excuse me...whats ward are you in???" and i said "YSA" what ward are you in??? and he said "I'm not a member! just saw you were reading the book of mormon!...i used to learn from the missionaries years ago..but lost contact!" ...once i collected myself and closed my mouth! haha i asked him waht he learned and got his number and referred him to the elders! His name was akel! And he was a lost sheep that has been found! THAT is the power of reading the book of mormon! so grateful!
WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! life is good! life is better when we have the gospel! I know it!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
